Gift orders and messages, rebuilt

Gift orders and messages, rebuilt

  1. Orders that stay in sync

  • Changes made in Shopify appear in Giftnote the moment they happen — no more waiting for a sync.

  • Orders that ship in multiple parcels are tracked per-shipment, so you always know which one to watch.

  • A cancellation takes effect immediately.

  • Why this matters: what you see in Giftnote is what's actually happening in Shopify, in real time.

  1. A short window before a gift message sends

  • Send Now gift messages wait 15 minutes after checkout before they go out. A cancelled or fraud-flagged order stops in that time, and a typo can still be fixed.

  • Send Now gift cards also wait 15 minutes, counted from when payment is received. If your store uses a fraud-detection app that holds payment until the buyer is approved, the 15 minutes starts after that approval.

  • Why this matters: fewer support tickets from a message that went out too fast to fix.

  1. Messages reveal at the doorstep

  • A gift message unwraps the moment delivery is confirmed — or you can choose to send it the moment the order ships instead.

  • Carriers are detected automatically for new orders, so there's nothing to configure.

  • Why this matters: the "surprise on delivery" moment works reliably, carrier by carrier.

  1. A live character count

  • Gift messages can be up to 210 characters, with a live character count as you type in the app's edit form.

  • Why this matters: you can see how much room is left before you save an edit.

  1. Fewer failed checkouts

  • Gifts now go through even when a recipient name wasn't provided at checkout.

  • Why this matters: fewer lost sales over a missing field.
