Giftnote store credit

Giftnote can provide store credit directly to users. Store Credit is useful for compensation or giveaway items that will be locked to the respective user email.

Gift Cards → Create. Turn on Issue as store credit to issue store credit instead of a gift card.

Creating store credit

  1. Open the create form. From the Giftnote app, go to Gift Cards and select Create gift card.
  2. Set the Amount. Enter the value of the store credit.
  3. Choose the recipient. Select Email to issue to any email address, including people who have never been a customer. Select Customer ID to issue to an existing customer by entering their Shopify customer ID.
  4. Double-check the recipient. Store credit is locked to the email or customer it is issued to, so make sure the email address or customer ID is correct before you issue it.
  5. Turn on Issue as store credit.
  6. Select Create Gift Card.

The Message and Notes sections are optional. Notes are internal and never shown to the recipient.

The recipient is notified by the Gift Card - Store Credit Issued notification, which tells them store credit has been added to their account.

Can I issue store credit in another currency?
Store credit issued from the Giftnote app is issued in your store's base currency. To issue store credit in the customer's own currency, run a store credit campaign through Shopify Flow. Credit issued that way arrives in the currency the customer paid in.
