1. Add the Multi-Gift Button to Your Shopify Store

How to add the Multi Gift Redirect button to product pages, the cart or cart drawer, or older themes with a Liquid snippet, and how to check it's live from Giftnote settings.

The Multi-Gift feature is designed for:

  • Corporate gifters placing large bulk orders
  • DTC shoppers sending multiple gifts to friends and loved ones

Without Multi-Gift, sending three gifts means going through three separate Shopify checkouts. With Multi-Gift, your customers can send all gifts in one seamless transaction.

Option 1: Add the Multi-Gift button via Theme Editor (Online Store 2.0)

  1. Open your Shopify Theme Editor. From the Giftnote app, you can also select Add to theme next to Storefront link on Settings → Multi Gifts → Widgets.
  2. Select the product where you want to add the Multi-Gift option.
  3. Find the Multi Gift Redirect block. Select Add block, search for "giftnote" and choose Multi Gift Redirect from the Apps tab.
  4. Drag and drop it into your desired section (e.g. under the "Add to Cart" button).
Shopify theme editor: Add block with "giftnote" typed in the search box and the Apps tab open, listing Gift Order Message, Multi Gift Redirect, Legacy Gift Card Message, Gift Card Message and Check balance

You can customize the button style directly in the editor.

What happens next?

  • The button opens your Multi-Gift storefront.
  • Once gifting details are filled out, the customer is funneled into the normal Shopify checkout.

Option 2: Add the button to cart page or cart drawer

Want to drive more usage of the Multi-Gift feature? You can also place the button inside the cart layout or cart drawer.

  • If your theme supports it, use the theme editor to add the button block in the cart section.
  • If not, use the custom code snippet below.

Option 3: Manual snippet for non–Online Store 2.0 themes

If you can't use theme blocks, you can hardcode the Multi-Gift button directly into your Liquid files.

Paste the following snippet where you want the button to appear (e.g. cart.liquid):

<giftnote-multigift
  data-shop="{{ shop.permanent_domain | replace: '.myshopify.com', '' }}"
  data-styles="giftnote-cart-multigift"
  data-label="SEND TO MULTIPLE ADDRESSES"
></giftnote-multigift>

This works in older themes that don't support Online Store 2.0 sections.

Important: the snippet only works when the Giftnote Control Panel app embed is switched on. In your theme editor, go to App embeds, toggle on Giftnote Control Panel and click Save.

Check the button is live

In Giftnote, go to Settings → Multi Gifts and look at the Widgets card. The button is listed as Storefront link (Product page); in the theme editor the same block is called Multi Gift Redirect. It shows Active once the block is on your theme, or Inactive with an Add to theme button if it isn't yet. The same Storefront link row also appears under Multi Gift in the Online store widgets card on Settings → Overview.

Settings → Multi Gifts in the Giftnote app: the Widgets card, with Storefront link (Product page) marked Inactive with Add to theme and Help buttons, and Gift progress (Thank-you & order status) marked Active with Edit in checkout, Configure and Help buttons

This status reflects your published theme only. If you added the block to a draft theme, it shows here once you publish that theme.
