3. Viewing Gift Notes via Shopify Order Admin

How to add the Giftnote summary app block to a Shopify order page so you can view gift notes without leaving Shopify admin.

You can view a gift note directly from the Shopify order page, without leaving Shopify admin, by adding the Giftnote app block. If you would rather look an order up inside Giftnote, open the app, select Gift orders and use the search icon and Filter at the top of the list.

Steps:

  1. Go to a Shopify order — Open any order in your Shopify admin.
  2. Scroll down to the "Add app block" section — Near the bottom of the order page, look for the "Add app block" button.
  3. Select "Giftnote summary" — Click Add app block, then choose Giftnote summary from the list. This block shows the gift order, gift card, and multi-gift info associated with the order.
  4. Pin the block (optional but recommended) — Pin the block so it appears automatically on all future order pages.
  5. Refresh the page — Once the block is added, refresh the page to load the gift note info.
  6. View the gift note — The summary shows a link to the gift note. Select Open in app to open the full gift note in the Giftnote app.
