2. Search: How to Find, View and Edit a Giftnote via Shopify Orders

How to find a Giftnote order using in-app search, or via the Giftnote summary block on the Shopify order page, then view and edit it.

You can check whether an order includes a Giftnote and open it in two ways: search for it inside the Giftnote app, or open it from the Shopify order page with the Giftnote block. The block is the faster path when you are already looking at the order in Shopify.

1. Search inside the Giftnote app

Open the Giftnote app, select Gift orders, and select the search icon at the top of the list. Select Filter to narrow by status, method, medium (email or SMS), source, billing and health, then select Apply. The filter panel also has Save as view: name the filter and it appears as a tab at the top of the list, so a filter you use every day is one click away. Use Date to limit the list to a date range and Columns to choose which columns show. The same tools are on the Gift cards and Multi gifts lists. Select an order to open it, then select Edit on the Gift Message card to view, edit or update the message.

2. Or add the Giftnote block to your Shopify order page

  1. In your Shopify admin, open Orders and select any order.
  2. Select Customize or Add app block in the order details layout.
  3. Select the Giftnote summary block.

This block appears in the order view whenever a gift order, gift card, or multi-gift is attached to the order.

3. View and open the Giftnote

  • If the order includes a Giftnote, it displays inside the block you added.
  • Select the link to open it directly in the Giftnote app.
  • From there, you can view, edit, or update the message.
