1. Giftnote for agencies: start here
Why your clients' gift orders are a lead-gen channel, the work you can bill for, and which steps to follow for clients on Giftnote and clients who aren't yet.

A big share of your clients' orders are gifts, and most brands do nothing with that data. Every gift puts their product in the hands of someone who may never have bought from them. This section turns that into lead gen for your clients and billable work for you, on their store and in their Klaviyo.
Why it's worth your time
- Gift recipients are new customers. 74% of gift recipients are new to the brand.
- They buy. About 1 in 10 goes on to buy. Of 681,030 gifts sent through Giftnote, 72,735 recipients later placed an order of their own.
- Gifting peaks when you're busiest. Gifts sent through Giftnote in November and December 2025 turned 17 to 19% of recipients into customers, roughly double the rate for the rest of the year.

Client not on Giftnote yet
Without Giftnote, the client can't see which orders were gifts, and gift recipients never hear from them. The free plan shows them what they're missing.
- Install Giftnote's free plan on the client's store from the Shopify App Store (with the client's OK, using your collaborator access).
- Run the Gift Audit. In Giftnote, go to Analytics > Uplift, scroll to Gift Audit, pick a range that covers last November and December, and click Run Gift Audit. For a quick look at the last 30 days, use See the gifts you're missing on Home. Full steps: Scan past orders for missed gifts.
- Grab the data: Look like gifts, Gift cards, no message, Their sales (est.) and Missed gifts (est.), plus the date range. Copy the results and paste them into your AI assistant with the prompt below.
- Check the store with the on-site gifting check (article 8): can shoppers find a gift option at all?
- Take both to the client: how many orders were gifts, and what shoppers can't do today.
- Once they choose a plan, add the gift message widget, connect Klaviyo, and follow the path for Giftnote clients below. The Klaviyo prompts need Giftnote's events, so they start working once gifts come through.

Write a short summary I can share with the client:
- How many orders looked like gifts, and what share of the orders checked that is.
- How many gift cards went out with no message.
- Their sales (est.): what those orders were worth. These sales already happened: don't call them lost revenue.
- Missed gifts (est.): label it as Giftnote's estimate of what those orders could have earned as gifts.
- What shoppers couldn't do on those orders: add a gift message, or let the brand reach the person who received it.
- Three things Giftnote would change for them.

How the prompts work
Each article has a prompt you copy into an AI assistant, such as Claude. The Klaviyo prompts need the assistant connected to your client's Klaviyo, through the Klaviyo connector or a Klaviyo API key per client (article 2). The on-site check needs one that can browse websites. For quick answers inside the client's Shopify admin, ask Shopify Sidekick, which reads Giftnote's gift orders and gift cards. Prefer to do it by hand? The Klaviyo onboarding guide for agencies covers the Klaviyo setup step by step.
Before you run any prompt. These prompts assume your AI assistant has read and write access to your client's Klaviyo. AI tools make mistakes. Only run them for clients who've given you permission, check every number before you share it, and review every draft in Klaviyo before anything goes live. You're responsible for changes made in your client's account.
