2. Create Store Credit

Store credit is a balance you add to one customer's account, for example to make up for a late order or to run a giveaway. It stays with that customer, so they can't pass it on.

Creating store credit

1. In the Giftnote app, go to Gift Cards and select Create gift card.
2. Enter the Amount.
3. Under Recipient, choose Email and enter any email address, including someone who has never ordered from you. Or choose Customer ID and enter an existing customer's Shopify customer ID.
4. Check the email address or customer ID. The credit stays with whoever you choose here.
5. Turn on Issue as store credit.
6. Optional: turn on Message to include a personal message, and add Notes for your team. The recipient never sees notes.
7. Select Create Gift Card.

Giftnote sends the customer the Gift Card - Store Credit Issued notification, which tells them store credit has been added to their account. The credit also shows in your Gift Cards list with the type Store Credit.

Can I issue store credit in another currency?
Store credit you issue from the Giftnote app is in your store's base currency. To issue it in the customer's own currency, run a store credit campaign through Shopify Flow. Credit issued that way arrives in the currency the customer paid in.
