A gift message can be added to a Shopify order after checkout, for example when a customer forgot to add one and asks you to add it for them. You manage this in the Giftnote app, and you will need the Shopify order number.
This works on any Shopify order that doesn't already have a gift message, including orders where no gift details were added at checkout. If the order already has a gift message, Giftnote shows an error. Open that order and use Edit on the Gift Message card instead.

Obtaining the order number
From the Shopify admin, select Orders on the left-hand navigation and find the customer's order (the search icon narrows results by name or email). Note the order number shown in the Order column.

Attaching or correcting the message
Open the Giftnote app, select Gift orders, select the arrow button in the top right, then select Create Message.
Enter the order number in the Order number field. It is required: Giftnote will not create a message without an order it can find. Giftnote looks up the order when you select Create Message. If the order has no gift order in Giftnote yet, Giftnote creates one from the Shopify order and attaches your message. If the order already has a gift message, you'll see "Order [number] already has a gift message — edit the existing message from the order instead of creating a new one." Open that order and use Edit on the Gift Message card instead.
Fill in To, From and Message. Recipient email and Recipient phone are optional. Under Delivery, choose Send Now or Schedule. Schedule adds a Scheduled Date & Time field with a date picker and a time. Fill these in as the customer requested. Then select Create Message.
